In my home lab, I push virtual machines, containers, VPNs, and the RackMatrix S2 handles it all with headroom to spare. Thermal is great, noise is minimal, power draw is reasonable. Happy to finally have a compact, powerful firewall box.
Thank you! It’s wonderful to know it’s doing well in a home lab environment. If you ever want to test extreme loads or unusual configurations, I’d love to hear your results.
We installed this at a branch office to handle local routing, VPN tunnels, and firewall filtering. The SFP port allowed fiber uplink, and the rest of the network used GbE. The unit stayed stable even under peaks. Love it.
We’re delighted it’s performing well in branch deployment. Thanks for describing your use case — we’d be happy to help replicate this setup to other branches if needed.
Specs like 4 cores at 1.91 GHz, 3GbE + 1SFP looked promising, and in real-world use, it delivers. But I submitted a setup question and got a reply only after 30 hours. The product is excellent; support experience could be faster.
Thank you for the compliment on specs and performance. I’m sorry about the support delay — we’re working to improve our response times. If your question is still unresolved, I’ll personally follow up to get you a direct answer.
In my small server rack, this unit takes minimal space. I barely notice it — noise is negligible. Under mixed traffic loads (web, VPN, file transfers), it behaves reliably. The metal build feels premium too. I’m very happy.
That’s exactly the feedback we aim for! Quiet, compact, and dependable. Thank you for noticing those design details. Let me know if you'd like tips to squeeze further performance.
The hardware is stellar — stable throughput, clean UI, and it handles my firewall + VPN needs without skipping a beat. The downside: the overseas shipping to my location added nearly a week. So I’m giving 4 stars, because shipping delay wasn’t fun.
Thank you for acknowledging both the pros and the shipping delay. We’re sorry for the transit time. While logistics are partly outside our control, we’re always working to optimize shipping routes and documentation. We hope the unit’s performance still made the wait worth it.
