I’m pleased with the hardware of the RackMatrix S2 — it’s exactly as described, works well, and has the right combination of ports for our setup. The only wrinkle: when the unit landed in the Philippines, we incurred higher-than-expected import duties and taxes. That cost surprise lowered the overall satisfaction. The product itself is fine, but the total landed cost was more than I budgeted.
Thank you for your candid review and for acknowledging the hardware strengths. We’re sorry the import duties and taxes caught you off guard — unfortunately those are beyond our direct control, but we’ll include clearer reminders about possible extra costs for international buyers. We appreciate your feedback and hope the unit continues to perform well for you.
The Ruckus R560 gives excellent range and signal strength — we had fewer dead spots compared to our old AP. My only hiccup: the ceiling / wall mounting kit came with minimal guidance and we spent extra time aligning for best signal. Once done though, the coverage is very strong.
Thank you for your candid note and for praising the range and signal performance. We appreciate your feedback about the mounting instructions and will work on improving that. Thanks for choosing the product and for the four stars!
One of the reasons I bought the RackMatrix S2 was the single SFP port (alongside 3 GbE). We had a fiber uplink at our site and the SFP port allowed direct connection without a media-converter trick. The install went smoothly, the chipset doesn’t run loud or hot, and it sits neatly in our rack. Very happy overall.
Great to hear the SFP port made a real difference for your fiber uplink. That’s exactly one of the use-cases we designed for. Thanks for noting the thermal performance and rack-fit as well. We’re pleased you’re happy!
We run lots of IoT devices plus regular WiFi in our retail environment and the Ruckus R560 with its onboard BLE/Zigbee radio and USB-expansion potential was exactly what we needed. It handles crowded device loads very smoothly. Highly recommend for mixed WiFi + IoT environments.
Thanks for highlighting exactly the scenario we had in mind when designing this unit! It’s great to know the IoT integration is delivering value in a retail context. Thank you for your review!
The RackMatrix S2 is a strong performer: the ports are useful, the casing looks professional, it’s ready to rack and go. My only small complaint: the default 4 GB memory is sufficient for now but if you’re running lots of services (IDS, VPN, logging), you’ll want to upgrade. It would be nice if a higher-RAM option came standard or was offered at a discount. Otherwise, it’s a solid purchase.
We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and the real-world perspective. You’re right — for heavier services you may want more memory, and we’ll consider offering higher-RAM factory options in the future. Thanks for pointing that out and for giving us four stars.
