The RackMatrix S2 firewall appliance is very capable hardware. But when upgrading firmware, one of my interface names changed unexpectedly, causing a momentary lapse in connectivity. It was fixable, but a bit of a surprise.
Thanks for pointing that out. Interface naming after updates can trip up many users — we’ll improve release notes and documentation to warn of such changes. Glad it was fixable and that the unit continues to serve well.
The RackMatrix S2 with Noah2 E3845 is very capable — hardware, design, performance all good. However, one of the mounting screws was missing in my shipment, which caused a delay while I sourced a replacement locally.

The RackMatrix S2 firewall appliance is whisper‑quiet and extremely stable under load. My only critique: for less experienced users, getting VLANs, firewall rules, or SFP setup right took a few trial runs. Once configured, though, it’s rock solid.

The RackMatrix S2 network appliance delivered great performance and stability. My only gripe was that import duties and fees added a significant extra cost on delivery. The unit itself is top‑tier.
