Hardware is solid, performance is smooth, build is premium. But because I imported this unit, duties and handling costs on arrival were higher than expected, which added to my total spend. So instead of five stars I’m giving four.

Performance wise the S2 delivers: the Intel E3845, multiple ports, smooth routing—all very good. My only suggestion: the manual could include more detailed examples of VLAN + SFP + multi-WAN setups. Otherwise top pick.

We’ve thrown heavy NAT, multiple VPN tunnels, and deep packet inspection at the S2 and it hasn’t flinched. No reboots, no random resets, nothing unexpected. Exactly what we needed.

The hardware is top notch: the chassis, the ports, the performance—all great. My only slight “wish” is that the rack-mount kit was included by default instead of an optional accessory. Otherwise five stars.
