The hardware is excellent: the “rackmount network appliance Intel E3845 with SFP” is exactly what we needed. Build feels premium, ports are ideal, performance is robust. Unfortunately the shipping was delayed by customs and it took almost three weeks before I could even power it up. Once it arrived though, it delivered.

For my smart-home network I chose this as a “smart-home gateway device with SFP uplink and Intel E3845 CPU”. It handles all the smart sensors, cameras, VLANs and VPNs smoothly. The only caveat: the initial setup required more involvement than I expected (mounting, cable mapping, firewall rules). But once done, it’s rock stable.

I got this RackMatrix S2 as an SMB network appliance with SFP and 3 GbE ports, and it’s been a rock: steady performance, low power, quiet. The only downside: the outer packaging was dented on arrival, though the unit inside was perfect. 5 stars for the unit itself.

Really impressed with the hardware: the “home lab gateway appliance with 3 GbE + 1 SFP” works flawlessly in my home lab, running multiple VLANs, VPNs and test servers. My only minor gripe: shipping to the UK took around 9 days rather than the 4–5 I expected. Still worth it.

This “compact edge router appliance with Intel E3845 for remote site” is exactly what our remote-site setup needed. Low noise, small 1U size, and the SFP + 3 GbE makes it fit nicely where space is tight. Everything has been stable so far under real-world load.
