The RackMatrix S2 firewall appliance is solid — it works exactly as promised. But a 7-day customs hold and sparse tracking updates made me nervous and delayed my project.

The throughput, routing, and firewall features are all top notch. On hot days and under load, though, the chassis warms noticeably. I added ventilation under the rack, and now it’s fine.

Once I got the unit, it ran flawlessly. But my region experienced a transit delay of 4 days in customs. The product’s performance made up for it, but that wait gave me anxiety.
