After using this in production for a month, I can confidently say the RackMatrix S2 with Intel E3845 punches way above its class. I run a 100 Mbps uplink with multiple clients, site‑to‑site VPNs, and intrusion prevention — no hiccups. The LED indicators are clear, the UI is snappy, and the hardware feels premium.
Wow — thanks so much for this strong endorsement! It means a lot. If you ever want help squeezing more performance or monitoring logs over time, we’re just a message away. Enjoy your network stability!
The RackMatrix S2 ready-to-use with Noah2 Intel E3845 is exactly what I hoped for — solid hardware, easy config, good performance. But unfortunately, the package sat in customs in my country for 4 days before release. That delayed my project timeline.
We’re genuinely sorry about the customs delay you experienced. We understand how frustrating that can be, and we’re always looking to partner with faster carriers or provide better documentation to ease customs processes. We’re glad you still liked the product itself, and if there's anything we can do (e.g. status updates, documentation to present to customs), we're at your service.
I tested full load across all ports and saw throughput close to specs. Plus, the chassis stays pleasantly cool. I expected loud fan noise, but it's whisper-quiet, making it ideal for installations in enclosed racks.
That’s fantastic to hear! Cooling behavior is something we carefully designed for, so we’re happy it meets your expectations. If you ever want to monitor internal temps or fan speed via SNMP, just let us know—we can guide you.
After a bit of back‑and‑forth with support about which version of Noah2 firmware to use, I finally got it running. Since then, it’s rock steady, handling firewall + VPN + traffic shaping with ease. The user interface is solid, though the docs could use a few more examples for advanced use.
Thanks for being patient and giving us this helpful feedback. We’ll take your suggestion to heart and beef up our advanced-use examples in the docs. So glad it’s now doing a strong job for your network. Don’t hesitate to ping us if you’d like sample configs.
This 3 ports GbE plus SFP firewall box has become the backbone of our branch office network. I’ve linked two GbE ports to internal switches, one GbE to WAN, and the SFP to uplink fiber. All interfaces run beautifully, and even heavy traffic bursts don’t faze it.
Thank you for this specific use-case review! It’s wonderful to hear RackMatrix S2 is fitting seamlessly into your network topology. If you want help optimizing link aggregation, monitoring SFP link stats, or managing VLANs, we’re here.
